Here's Wikipedia on synchronicity. Good information, although of course wiki (God love 'em, though) has to add the wet blanket at the end. Skeptics can never be convinced, because the types of things that they doubt are precisely the types of things that can't be put into the mechanistic, cause-and-effect, testable box that they are looking for. That also includes astrology. Synchronicity is about experience and meaning (Jung called it "meaningful coincidence"), and how do you quantify meaning or put it into testable formulas? So believers gonna believe, haters gonna hate. But, for those who have had true synchronistic experiences (i.e. most people), we just need to ask ourselves: really, what are the odds? (See, for example, the first "Curious Thing" noted in The Dance of Astrology.)

Stories, myths, fables, and parables put us in touch with the collective unconscious, which is also where synchronicity may reside:

Trying to grab synchronicity is like trying to grab water. Relax and float. Synchronicities, like most things in life, can't be forced, made to appear, or nailed down. They happen when they happen.

"Lets be clear that both synchronicity and apophenia exist." There it is. They do. Humans are wired to find patterns. But for true synchronicities: really, what are the odds?

"Intuition, researchers have found, flourishes in a person who is open, receptive and nonjudgmental." That's true. One can see the problem here with skeptics analyzing synchronicity. Tight fists are incompatible with loose associations. Relax. Be Open. Trust. Let it happen.

Synchronicity in popular culture:

Long article, but very interesting. Synchronicity and other "paranormal" phenomena are obviously at least first cousins, if not manifestations of the same thing. They must, by their similar characters, share the same base. A forest of aspen trees appears to be many separate trees, but they are all connected at the roots. In fact, the largest living organism on earth is a grove of aspen trees in Utah. Look it up.

"(Synchronistic) coincidences are out of the ordinary, and they often occur when a person is doing something out of the ordinary." Many have noted the correlation between synchronicities and times of crisis, change, confusion, or stress in one's life. Maybe that's when we need the guidance?

Skeptics often fall back here on the "law of large numbers." But what they miss is the meaning component, and how this may demonstrate a link between psyche and matter. That's what differentiates synchronicity from dry mathematical coincidence:

Is matter the only reality? Good question. Synchronicity would seem to hint at something more. So does modern physics:
